How do folding beds work?

Fold up beds work by folding neatly away compactly when not in use, meaning you don't need the floor space for a permanent bed. They can be stored out of sight, then folded out when needed and placed on the floor of an existing bedroom or living room, acting as a temporary solution when guests stay over.

Folding beds typically have a strong frame and a flexible mattress. The design is complemented by a spring-based mechanism, automatic legs and 360° castors. The result is a bed that folds out easily with just a little added pressure.

Can any mattress go on a folding bed?

You shouldn't use just any mattress on a folding bed - regular mattresses are usually too thick and inflexible to fold up correctly.
