New student accommodation underway in Chester

With the University of Chester continuing to expand, there is a number of developments in progress to provide additional student beds, with one project for up to 400 students set to open in the autumn of 2015.

The Watkins Jones’ Tramways development is situated close to the train station, and consists of 11 studios which are self contained, and 387 rooms with en-suite facilities. It will be run by Fresh Student Living, a company that already oversees the running of a separate student accommodation on Victoria Road which accommodates 128.

Chester has become a busy area for students, with plans recently approved to demolish an unused bakery on Trafford Street and replace with studio apartments for students, which should be finished by autumn 2016, followed by another 121 bed student complex next to the city centre's fire station.

Student living space can often be on the small side. The key is to be smart with the space. Consider the available space and essential items such as the bed that will be needed, and what space is left to work with. Being smart with your storage and making efficient choices in this area will help to keep the room tidy and free from clutter.

There are numerous storage solutions available, including bed storage, cupboards, drawers and boxes. By choosing storage that is incorporated into the bed, such as a storage bed with drawers or an ottoman bed, you can maximise the available space.

Happy Beds has a great range of beds and bedroom accessories to enable you to get the most out of your bedroom.
