Pinterest Predicts These 5 Bedroom Decor Schemes Will Be Huge In 2025

The annual Pinterest Predicts report (a trends forecast published by the visual discovery platform) is a great way to get an insight into future home decor trends. With over 482 million users, Pinterest trend insights are based on user data, rather than the usual opinion-based predictions from interior designers or trendsetters.

For 2025, Pinterest has highlighted five key bedroom decor schemes that are expected to be popular for the year ahead. Here is a glimpse into what we can expect and how you can get the look!

Cherry Red Bedrooms

The search for ‘cherry bedroom’ has increased by a whopping 100% on Pinterest in recent months. Rich burgundy, merlot and reddish-brown shades were huge in the world of both nterior design and fashion in 2024; going forward, the dark and sweet tones of cherry red will move into our bedrooms.

A strong colour with a luxurious feel, a great way to bring the tone of cherry into a bedroom without it feeling dominating or overpowering is to paint the wall behind the head of your bed in a cherry or maroon shade, creating a warm focal point. Paint the remaining walls in a red-based warm neutral tone to complement the feature wall and choose a headboard-free divan bed for the room, allowing the majority of the cherry wall to remain visible for full impact.

Another way to embrace the cherry red bedroom trend (without redecorating) is to follow the popular interior design trick of adding an ‘unexpected pop of red.’ In any room scheme, it is believed that you can add one single red item and this will elevate the design of the whole space, drawing the eye for visual impact. The simple addition of a cherry red bedside lamp or bed cushion will add warmth and interest into a bedroom, without any big commitment to the trend!

Dolled Up

‘Cutecore room ideas’ are up 40% on Pinterest, as the combination of pastel tones remains popular as a colour palette for creating whimsical interiors. Colour-blocked clusters of lilac, pink, pale yellow, sky blue and mint green create a modern Scandi look within a bedroom decor scheme and mixing and matching all these colours together (rather than sticking to one pastel shade) is key to nailing the trend.

Combine a pink headboard with mixed lilac, blue or yellow bedding and add lots of bright and curvy accessories in the room. Sweet-coloured retro lamps, wiggle candlestick holders and colourful mini storage crates all work well.

Rococco bedroom

Rococo Revival

Drawing inspiration from the Rococo era - a Late Baroque period that was both opulent and ultra-feminine - the Rococo Revival trend is all about luxury and ornate detailing. Within Rococo Revival bedroom schemes, we will see the rise of window curtain dressings made from thick, lavish fabrics, trimmed with fringe detailing and pulled back with tassel curtain ties. Other soft furnishings in the room will contain ruffled and frilled edging, while bedding will be silky and abundant. Rococo Revival bedroom furniture will feature intricate markings, carvings and curved detailing - a signifier of traditional craftsmanship with a timeless appeal.

To easily get this look that is both classic and elegant, pair decorative wall panelling
alongside bedside tables with curved feet. You could also lean a large, ornate mirror against one wall. For the ultimate in Rococo Revival luxury, a Day Bed will complete the scheme. You can also update the headboard on your existing bed with one representing the Rococo Revival aesthetic.

Castlecore inspiration

Castlecore

In another nod to getting the look of time-honoured luxury, the search for ‘castle house’ inspiration has shot up by 45% on Pinterest, as gothic, medieval style commands attention thanks to artists like Chappell Roan and TV shows such as Game Of Thrones. Within bedroom design, we will see this translate with the rise in popularity of four-poster beds - the traditional style of bed found in large castle bedrooms. The vast four-poster frame can be left bare, or have fabric draped over it to embrace the ultimate in Castlecore style!

Within this trend, we will also see a desire for darker bedroom schemes, as we move away
from the light, white and bleached wood Scandi look and opt for something more grandiose.
Darker, cocooning bedroom spaces feel more palatial and sumptuous than bright ones, so
opt for a brooding paint palette in 2025 combined with an upholstered black bed frame with luxe metallic trim.

Mix & Maximalist

The search for ‘Eclectic Boho Bedroom’ inspiration is up 65% on Pinterest, meaning that the beige bedroom may have peaked in popularity as we seek out a casual mix of bold colours alongside clashing prints to create a vivid feast for the eyes. The key to this trend is that nothing is ‘too much’ and everything goes. It is an incredibly versatile trend where it’s impossible to make a mistake: pair stripes alongside floral prints, ruffles with ric rac trim and stick yellow alongside green (and everything in between)!

If you love the sound of this trend and want to create your own Mix & Maximalist bedroom, start with the bed. Invest in a bed upholstered in a mustard coloured fabric (which will provide a large jolt of colour) and layer it with a variety of bedding and cushions in a whole range of patterns and prints. What’s great about this trend is that you can shop other rooms in your home to complete the look as nothing should match. You don’t need to buy new complementary textiles for a cohesive scheme - just add in items you already own and love! However, a good tip is to mix up the scale of each print - combine smaller scale prints (such as intricate and representative floral patterns) with larger, bolder prints (such as animal prints) for contrast.

The Mix & Maximalist bedroom should also contain a lot of accessories and unexpected items: try hanging an array of plates on the wall instead of art prints, or stencil any plain fixtures and fittings with tester pot paint to add interest and detailing. For 2025, more is definitely more, so don’t be afraid to be adventurous with colour, pattern and detail within the bedroom for the year ahead!
