Whether you have a single divan bed, a double divan bed, or opt for a king size divan bed for maximum storage, the options are limitless! But to keep our list simple, here are a few of the most common uses for bed storage.
1) Storage for Shoes and Accessories
We don’t know about you, but we have way too many shoes and handbags. However, we don’t want to throw any out as, you never know, you may need a pair in that colour one day. So, the question comes about where to keep them?
Under bed shoe storage is ideal, especially if you have fitted drawers. This is our go-to option for storing spare pairs of slippers and high heels, as well as clutch bags and holdalls. It means you can simply sit at the end of the bed and reach down and grab a pair of shoes of choice when needed.
Bed shoe storage is particularly handy if you like a clean aesthetic. You can say goodbye to open racks or a line of shoes in the corner of your room and say hello to a hidden, organised solution. Single divan beds are ideal for storing shoes. if you have a smaller bedroom but if you have a larger room, or a lot of shoes, then a king size divan bed is the perfect solution!
2) Storage for Bedding and Towels
We think bed drawers make the perfect bed linen storage spot! Why? Well, the drawers are deep, meaning you can keep plenty of spare duvet sets, blankets, and duvets in one place. Plus, this bedding will always be close to hand when it comes to changing the bed.
What’s more, this will free up space in your airing cupboard or the top of your wardrobe, so you can hang more clothing. With a double divan bed, or even a king size divan bed, you get even more space thanks to the larger size of the bed which is particularly ideal for storing bedding!
Add a drawer freshener amongst your bedding and, however long they are kept under your bed and bed frame, these blankets and duvets will remain smelling clean and inviting. Lavender is particularly great as it can help you sleep!

3) Storage for Seasonal Clothing
So far this month, we have gotten sunburnt and been snowed on. However, most of the time in the UK, the weather is more reliable. With that said, many of us will rotate our wardrobe based on the seasons. If you don’t have enough space in your wardrobe or chest of drawers for all of your favourite items, then why not store the out of season pieces in your bed drawers?
We’re big fans of vacuum bags. Simply place the clothing you want to store inside the bag and seal, then suck out the air using a vacuum cleaner and watch the bag compress. These are really handy to help maximise the space available, which is particularly ideal if you only have a single divan bed!
4) Storage for Keepsakes or Paperwork
Your child’s drawings, tickets from a special gig, or a trinket from your first date with your partner are just a few keepsakes that many people hold onto. Finding where to store them can be tricky though. A storage bed with drawers could be the solution as you can tuck items away safely where they will not be disturbed.
We also love the idea of keeping paper under the bed. No, we’re not referring to money under the mattress, but any documents or records that you need to hold onto and simply don’t have the shelving or cupboard space available for.
