Toddler Bed Mattresses

At Happy Beds, our toddler beds and mattresses are bought separately. When purchasing a bed, we offer the option of adding a mattress before the checkout process.

At Happy Beds, our toddler mattresses measure 70 x 140 cm. This means they will fit perfectly inside a toddler bed.

Our toddler mattresses are made of 3 materials:

• Open coil spring mattresses: a mattress that contains tightly wound coil springs running across the mattress's sides. These mattresses come in a range of firmness ratings, including firm mattresses.
• Pocket spring mattresses: a mattress featuring individual pocket springs enclosed in fabric pockets. The springs work independently to offer support in areas of applied pressure.
• Reflex foam mattresses: a mattress made up of tiny holes that mould to a body shape, offering support. Reflex foam mattresses bounce back to their original shape when not in use.

The recommended age range for a toddler mattress is 2 - 4 years. Once your child passes this age range, they can move up to the next size; a small single mattress. If you need help determining what mattress size you need, look at our helpful kids' bed size guide for more information.

Although a standard adult mattress should be replaced every 8-10 years, children's mattresses may need to be replaced earlier than this to ensure the mattresses are still supporting their bodies.

As toddler mattresses should only be used by children aged 2-4, a toddler mattress should last throughout the years your child uses it.

A firm toddler mattress is preferred, as it supports a growing toddler’s body. However, a medium-firm mattress may also be suitable because toddlers are usually lightweight.
