We have a wider range of mattresses suitable for children to use, but these are our most popular choices designed to fit the most common-sized kids beds.

The answer to this question is that it's entirely dependent on your child! Children need to receive support as they grow, alongside plenty of comforts, so they grow up healthy. This is why all of our kids' mattresses are designed with these factors in mind, including the following firmness ratings:

• Soft kids mattresses - let your child sleep in the ultimate comfort with a soft kids mattress, providing optimal sleep to help them grow.
• Soft/medium kids mattresses - our soft/medium kids mattresses straddle the border between both ratings, providing a little extra support as they sleep.
• Medium kids mattresses - our medium kids' mattresses are ideal for a wide range of children, helping them to sleep better throughout the night.
• Medium/firm kids mattresses - our medium/firm kids mattresses are the firmest types of mattresses that we offer for children to use.

We stock multiple types of kids mattresses with different mattress structures. A mattress structure is what is inside the mattress itself and determines the level of firmness and support provided throughout the night. The difference between these structures is essential, as particular mattresses may be less suitable for some.

We sell the following kids mattress types:

• Open coil spring kids mattresses - offering outstanding comfort levels, an open coil spring kids mattress contains springs linked together in a wireframe.
• Pocket sprung kids mattresses - a pocket spring kids mattress consists of hundreds of individual springs inside their pockets, allowing weight to be distributed evenly to support their body contours.
• Reflex foam kids mattresses - our reflex foam kids mattresses have no springs inside them and will mould to your child's body as they sleep, which is particularly useful for growing children!

Your child will need different support as they grow, so you’ll need to change their mattress more often than an adult one. As a general recommendation, it’s advised you change your child’s mattress:

• Every three years for 3-10-year-olds
• Every five years for 10-16-year-olds.

Remember to ensure your child’s mattress size is suitable as they grow. To ensure they have enough space to sleep comfortably (without long limbs hanging out of the bed!), the mattress should be 10cm longer than your child.

If you’re shopping for kids mattresses for use on a bunk bed, you don’t need to look for a specific bunk bed mattress. Any child’s mattress can be used on a bunk bed, providing:

• It fits the bed frame perfectly without any gaps around the edges.
• It isn’t too thick to ensure the bed’s guard rails remain effective.
