Five Cool Teenager Beds for Young Adults

If your not-so-little-one is looking to transform their room into a more grown-up space, or needs a bigger bed and bed frame because their toes now hang off the end of theirs, then show them these five cool teenager beds. These are some of our faves.

Option 1: A gaming bed

Xbox, PlayStation, mobile apps, the computer – it is evident that gaming has taken over our households and if you have teens, I’m sure it plays a huge part in yours too. A gaming bed is perfect for teens who love a bit of gaming in their downtime, whilst maximising space in their room and separating sleep and play into two very distinct zones. Built using a high sleeper frame, this style provides space for a TV up to 65” and storage shelves below a raised mattress and sleep space. Taking up the same floor space as a traditional single bed, they’re the perfect teenage beds for small rooms! One of the most popular we have in stock at the moment is the Galaxy Grey Gaming Bed. Check it out!

Option 2: A bunk bed

When you hear the words 'bunk beds' you might be getting flashbacks to the pine masterpieces of our younger years, but they’ve come so far since then. Although the basic frames are still available, some of the fancier bunk beds now come fitted with built-in storage, desks, shelving and cupboards to maximise the available floor space. Take the Stim or the Eclipse for example. The Stim has one-bed off-set against the other to fit in a wardrobe and drawer space, as well as a hanging rail space hidden behind the wardrobe. In a similar layout, the Eclipse is also offset with drawers, shelves and even a pull-out desk.

You can even have bunks with different sized bed combinations. Opt for one with a small double on the bottom and a single on the top for your teen and they’ll love the extra room to spread out in.

Option 3: A high sleeper

Another favourite for maximising the available floor space in a small room is a high sleeper. These beds are always winners in my eyes. There are so many different versions available: high sleepers with wardrobes, high sleepers with desks, high sleepers with gaming zones (like the above). They are a versatile piece of bedroom furniture for teenagers. One of the coolest new high sleepers we have in stock here at Happy Beds is the Mont Blanc. Available in grey and white, it would look amazing in a boy or girl’s room and has both wardrobe space and a desk for homework-packed evenings (we parents can dream).

Option 4: A small double bed

I was very lucky growing up. As an only child, my parents moved me into what was the second biggest bedroom at a young age. What was once a spacious guest room, was now my den with a small double bed and all the space I needed to play. If your home is large enough to allow this, a small double bed could be the perfect treat for your teen and I know from experience that they’ll appreciate it. At 4ft wide and 6ft 3in long, they’re ideal for taller teens, but won’t encroach too much on the width of the room, leaving plenty of space for a wardrobe and desk. One of my favourite small double beds we have on offer here at Happy Beds is the Phoenix Wooden Ottoman Storage Bed in navy blue. Not only is it bang on style with the deep colour and oak accents, but it has a solid construction meaning it will last y our teen a long time and plenty of built-in storage for hiding away clothes, shoes, or spare bedding.

Option 5: A double TV bed

Of course, if you’re feeling really generous - or you’re sick of fighting over the remote – you could invest in a double TV bed. When it comes to cool teenage bedroom furniture, it doesn’t come better than this. Convenient in size and a quality build, it has the bonus of neatly hiding away their TV - perfect for teens who like lazy weekends or late-night movies.
